Had my MVD surgery Feb 10th went well had a dramatic artery compression what ever that means doc fixed and I am doing as expected will write more when feel better first couple of days were harder than I thought but made it through it and it is all up hill now
Hi Katherine - I'm glad to hear that you're better after your MVD. I have to admit, the first few days are torture. I had my visit with my doctor at Duke on Feb. 13th. Very impressed with Dr. Sampson. I return March 5th for another MRI, one that can only be done there. Then, I return May 1st to see a Neurologist that treats patients with "face pain" only. Hope to report good news after that. I'm on a waiting list to get in earlier, if possible. Keeping my fingers crossed. Take care of yourself. Will talk later, your friend, Nancy.
glad the surgery and those first couple really rough days are behind you.
and above all, happy to hear surgery went well.
i hope the mvd relieves your pain Forever.
best wishes for a quick recovery.
when you're up to it, let us know how you are feeling.
Kat. Glad you are feeling better and continue todo so. Yes those first days are something else. I had my MVD on Sept 24 2014. It has made a difference in my life.
Please smile more as you realize even though you are having healing pains you are free of TN
All the best to you
Chippy
I start weening off My Dilantin march 9th after I see Neurologist Then when I am off of that we will work on the Gabapentin I can not wait Then we will know how well surgery worked I have my fingers crosses and keep praying.
It has been 6 weeks since I had my surgery I am feeling good and have been pain free, I still have some fullness in my ear still get off balance once in a while and still get tired easy all of that is supposed to go away in time. I am back to driving YAY! Saw my neurosurgeon for the last time. My Neurologist is weaning me off my meds another 7 weeks and I should be off of the first one, that should give a good idea if the surgery was a success I am praying I will be 100% pain free.
I would like to thank everyone again who donated to my gofundeme page and for all the prayers and well wishes.
Its been 12 weeks since surgery no pain I just took my last dilantin pill last night and am weaning off the Gabapentin now I am at 2400mg a day still will soon be cutting down to 1600mg a day. I still have this feeling like I have a band of pressure in the back of my head and the incision is still numb but those are minor things compared to pain thank you everyone for your support and Help.
I'm so happy for you Kathy. Will keep praying for you for a complete recovery. My best to you. Nancy

Hi Kat, I am glad things went well. I pray that your healing is complete and timely.
Thanks for your reply Kat, its really hard to follow the forum and find where the comments are on this website. Yes I had the MVD three weeks ago, I am totally numb on the right side, blurry vision in right, hearing okay, dizzy and vertigo. Its awful and I didn't have any idea it was going to be like this after so I am trying to stay calm and find hope it will get better with healing time. TY again! Nicole
