Wow,sounds like your head is in the right place which is always the best medicine.Best of luck and prayers from Texas! Don
I just know this is going to be the answer for you friend! I can’t wait to hear of your success. When I’m recovered from my surgery just a few weeks after yours I should plan a visit up to see you! I’ve never been in that part of the country or in real snow! Keep me posted (you have my email) and if there is ANYTHING I can do to help please don’t hesitate to ask
Haha Bellalarke what a great extended family you have! Hope they can all support you in which ever way they can after the MVD. I agree once you see it in black and white that you do have a problem it makes it easier to go ahead and receive treatment. Very best wishes to you xx
I’m making progress. Walking a mile and a half now, in the same amount of time it used to take me to run 5miles, oh well, still progress:) Having less TN 1 pains than initially after surgery so thats awesome!! I’m able to help around the house more, but still wouldn’t trust myself to drive, too dizzy when turning my head side to side. When I over do it, my head sure lets me know it! It’s a tricky thing to balance because as you start to feel better you will want to do more, and you really don’t know you’ve done too much until it hurts. It’s all worth it, I can see each week I am stronger, you will be too!!!

This morning I’m feeling very calm now that all the arrangements are in place and I’m mostly finished up with the the things I have to do here. (I live alone so I do all the maintenance, a few things still need attending to before the rainy season begins, friends are coming to help).
Stopped in to see my GP yesterday and she gave me the letter she received from my surgeon. The sentences: “CISS sequence demonstrates a loop of left superior arterial cerebellar artery contacting the underside of the trigeminal nerve on the left side. There is also a loop of anterior inferior cerebellar artery contacting the facial nerve complex. The vessels in proximity to lower cranial nerves were less well see” are quelling my fears of “Should I really do this!” Still, I understand that there is no way of knowing if contacting means compressing until he gets in there. He is also going to explore the glossopharyngeal nerve for possible decompression and warned me that he’ll be making a large hole.
I’m starting to get excited about all the things I’ll possibly be able to with comfort! So yes, thanks Kathy, I’m feeling very positive. Thank you for thinking of me and all prayers most welcome. How are you doing?
One other thing, I’ve been using Arnica gel on my neck (not my incision) for muscle pain and swelling. It really seems to help, might be worth trying in the upcoming weeks:)
This is great news Bellalarke! So good to hear you will have support too. And I found the same results as Kathy - as I felt better I tried to do more and I didn't know I was overdoing it until it was too late so TAKE IT EASY! It's important to get lots of rest. I still don't feel nearly as good if I don't get a good night's sleep. Update us when you can. Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers!
Well my dear friends, I am all scrubbed up (with itchy skin) and getting ready to go to sleep. My daughters and sister are here in Vancouver with me at my dear friend’s house, they went swimming in the ocean today while I stood on shore holding my 3month old grandson. Then we had a birthday party. I am ready. Leaving for hospital just before 5 am. My daughters will update. Thanks to all with their good wishes.
(((( hugs )))). Mimi xx
How blessed you are to have such lovely friends and family, reflects what a lovely person you are Bella. xx
Can’t wait until your pain free updates start rolling in!
Best of luck today! Thinking of you!
Good Luck - hope everything goes well. Look forward to many painfree days!
Great News!!!!
Keep us posted on your recovery.
Remember to rest as much as you can afterwards. I was SO bored it was not funny, as I couldnt do things like I thought I would be able to.
Keep positive.

I hope you are doing well!!! Thinking about you!!
Bella, I have you in my thoughts for a fabulous outcome x
Hope you are doing well! You are in my thoughts!
Thanks to all. Quick update.
This is my third day and I’m pretty good. No nausea or puking, which is really helpful. Both fifth and seventh cranial nerves were decompressed and surgeon has good feeling about them. There was a,third issue with the glossopharyngeal nerve, number 9 but the artery was just following it long and no obvious node pushing in so he left that for now. We’re still not sure if scalp issues are occipital neuralgia or that’s called “convergence” that is, C2-3 nerves getting turned on my all that activity. He thinks in about six weeks we should know where I stand and pain will have subsided quite a bit. It could be a long progress as the nerves settle down from being handled. Going home tomorrow. Good prognosis. Feeling upbeat but sore. Really big incision.
