Morning

Hi

Since April 12 I have been suffering from numbness on right handside of my face and sharp pains on righthandside of head. This has led to ocular migraines. I went to gp he was supportive ran bloods ruled out infections, sent me to maxfax for Mri. Since my Mri didnt show anything organic he is now suggesting psychology. I know I didnt react well to carberizpine and I wanted to try alternative therapies rather than being zombiefied as the last lot of meds made me feel. After the pain this weekend I will need to return to the gp. So question do I follow his route of psychology - not sure what that do or do I respectfully request a visit to the pain clinic. Thanks for your thoughts and experiences.

Hi,
Are you in UK?
I am in London, my GP referred me to psychologist without even telling me. My view is that I do not need psychology I needed a neurologist. My GP, although has been practising for longtime but is not aware about TN. I had to really assert myself to be referred to a neurologist.

Hi

I am in Scotland. I have not gone back to my gp but I will need to go back soon. Although accupunture has stopped the worst of the facial numbness I am still getting pains in the head. I will see what he says when I go back.
