Hello Donna, yes it does make your face numb. I have been using Lidoderm 5% for about 10 days now. My face and mouth burn constantly so it is a great help to have these patches. I cut them down to a small patch that I use with a bandaid. Got that idea from my mom, she is a retired nurse.
Yep -- if you type lidocaine in the search box -- you will find my name pop up 200 times minimum! You can also get it in a cream, nose spray and mouthwash!
The patches have saved my life ! especially before MVD

Thanks gals , for the respone...for some reason my med doesn't make me numb at all...i noticed there was 2 different spelling..Bonnie spelled it different then KC....what i have is Lidocaine ointment 5%...so maybe i got the wrong med...this is where i heard of it also...then i called my family dr and he send it out....but it doesn't make me numb at all....god bless
Nose spray! That sounds awesome, since my type 1s have been returning I have the burning in my nostril on that side :( I am going to have to go to the doctor and ask for that (among many other things)
