Making some changes

My GP really is amazing. She mixes traditional with eastern medicine. Its quite a powerful mix.

I am lucky, as my Mum works for her so she has known me since I was 16 or 17. So a good 10 years.

I went to see her last week, and she quietly mentioned to my Mum that she was shocked as to how unwell I looked. I dont take it as a insult, as I know I look horrific. I am so pale, overweight (from medications I take for migraine variants), big dark circles under my eyes … I look a fright. And I am a dog walker! I should be healthy and shiny!

She is a HUGE believer in nutrition. She practices what she preaches as she is vegan. With most patients that come in, the first thing she tells them to do is to go off dairy - and the results are always positive in any light.

She sent me a reply email last night saying, that after I go to see the Ostiopath on Tuesday, depending on what he has to say we are going to look at my diet and lifestyle again. I have decided instead of being miserable, I am going to try and beat her to it.

I have planned this weeks menu and my husband did the shopping tonight. We have a fridge full of wonderful fruit and veges and I have planned my healthy meals for each day. Bircher museli for breakfast, nuts, banana, cucumber and carrot for lunch, stuffed yummy baked mushrooms and similar for dinners …

I spent last week feeling really sorry for myself. Although this week I have decided I have to and get my body back to some sort of harmony. Even though I have this mystery condition hanging over my head, I am never going to get any better in this state.

She truly is a healer, and I know she will stick with me all the way through this diagnostic and treatment dance. She is the type of person you want to do proud. She motivates you in that sense. And I know the more I can do for myself, the more she can do for me in the long run.

So turning a new leaf today! Gotta start helping myself a little.

P.S. I haven’t had the massive killer horrific pain for about 1 week now. Getting the usual little gabs and stabs, but nothing killer. YAY for me.

Hooray for new leaves! A fresh start always feels so good and gets you motivated! Moving to the UK changed my diet completely and it’s amazing the changes to notice when you start looking at the things you are putting into your mouth.

So glad the massive pain has eased off for you too  It makes a big difference when you feel that relief finally.

hugs to you
