omg I want. All my doctor could find when he looked up lidocaine was the ointment after I told him I wanted some to stuff up my nose. It's all minty and crap and makes the nose water. I rub it on the front of the inside of the nostril and it helps but nasal spray sounds blissful.

Hi..I am a pediatric nurse and use magic mouthwash for the kids that have gotten chemotherapy. Some of them get very bad, bleeding and irritation of the lining of their mouths. I can't imagine this would help. It looks horrible painful!! I use lidocaine nasal spray to help with TN pain in my nose. I have squirted some in my mouth and swished it helped for a few minutes!!
well i got my lidocaine today but was in the form of a spray and not a mouthwash,,,ive used it several times,,all it did was make my tongue and mouth number than usual and didnt stop the shock pains and i was left with terrible cuts in my mouth and tongue as i bit the crap out of them,,my AD makes me numb anyway but i learned how not to chew on that side but iam now reduced to eating mush with a baby spoon and drinking through a straw again,n back to using my baby toothbrush as gentle as i can :( oh n it tasted worse than anything ive ever tasted before,,so all in all for me no good.
you can make an "at home" version...with benzocaine liquid, childrens benedryl liquid, and maalox. Not as good as the prescription stuff, but it can offer a few mins of relief. (lasts about 30 mins for me) In the middle of a pain flare, it can be bliss for that 30 mins.. Anyway, i didn't see anyone mention the at home version here..so i thought i would.
Wishing us all peace and a pain free day
