Went to my neuro doc on Wed. and he upped my Lyrica to 100mg 2x a day and it's definitely helping me now....no bad breakthroughs for days now, only mild aching and pinging, and believe it or not some hours of pain free!!! Going to the dentist next week because I'm not sure I haven't cracked another tooth or filling from clenching or maybe it's just the ATN making it feel that way LOL!
How can the dentist tell if you have a cracked tooth? I grind my teeth at night and have one canine where all my pain originates..I think I may have cracked it but regular xrays dont show a crack?
The last time I cracked one he found it by having me bite down on different points of the molar, one was very painful and he said I have cracked the corner of my molar...he drilled out the filling, cemented it, sealed it, refilled it and crowned it. So far so good......I'm having the same problem now in another back molar, that shows lots of fine cracks (visual) from clenching...
Hi Stephanie...just wanted you to know that I had the very back molar on the side with the ATN extracted yesterday, under anesthesia, and the oral surgeon said the molar WAS cracked. I'm glad my dentist suggested it be pulled rather than fool around with a root canal on that side of my jaw. It's been over 24 hours and I've taken 2 pain pills so far...no pain yet, or pinging, aching etc. Saw my neuro this morning and he thinks that cracked tooth may have been triggering my bad flares the past several weeks. I'll know in a few days anyhow....The dentist is sure I cracked that tooth because of grinding and clinching at night. This will be the second one I've cracked in the past several years....All I can tell you is that it felt "tender" when I pushed down on it.

I had an upper cracked molar pulled last year..That crack showed up on an xray...I had several xrays on my bottom canine which I think is cracked but none showed up on the xrays..I think it is cracked below the gum line. The upper molar was cracked along the top. I hope your tooth was the cause of all your pain..It would be nice to be pain free!! ..Good luck:)
