Has anyone tried this low saturated fat diet? I've been on the diet for a month and am curious if anyone else has tried.
Did you find any changes? It deserves to try
I feel like I have but I am not quite sure. I cut out caffeine and have TRIED to keep 10g of saturated fat a day...no butter...no creamy sauces...no chocolate. It's been tough. I feel the pain is more manageable although I just had an attack yesterday and am still coming down from that. (I feel that was stress related). I find stress REALLY sets it off. I also find drinking lots of water helps and sleeping a good amount of hours. I am going to continue the low saturated fat and maybe test it out. I plan on going OFF the diet for a couple days and see what happens. I'll let you know. Do you find anything helps the pain?? I think I"m about to try acupuncture.

Hi muneca. I’ve tried gluten free. I’m not sure it made that much difference really but I’m sure it helps to avoid the obvious and eat well. Stress and talking are the worse triggers for me. Light and noise is very difficult too. With love xx
Now I am on acupuncture I notice changes after 5th sesssion I don’t know if it’s end of the attack or it’s true effect of acupuncture !
Ketogenic diet make noticable difference in epilepsy I’m thinkin why don’t try it may help !

Interesting. I've looked into various diets, but have never actually tried any of them, except the Paleo diet...but after two days, my blood sugar dropped so low that i almost fainted. My husband nixed that. lol
Please keep posting about this...and any success you have (or failure for that matter). I am interested in your results.
Wishing us all peace and a pain free day

From Dr. Mercola's website. "Your brain is mainly made of fat and cholesterol. The lion’s share of the fatty acids in the brain are actually saturated. A diet that skimps on healthy saturated fats robs your brain of the raw materials it needs to function optimally."
From another website ---- "Your brain is fat. And that's a good thing. Your brain consists mainly of fat and cholesterol, and it needs saturated fat more than any other kind. Even the brain-friendly omega-3 fatty acids can't be utilized without ample saturated fat. In addition, saturated fat facilitates nerve signals and hormone production. All of these systems rely on saturated fat to function, and to keep you healthy and ultimately alive.
It's important to choose the right saturated fats, like real butter and virgin coconut oil. Avoid highly processed fats and especially hydrogenated oils, which have been proven to cause heart disease, cancer and a slew of other conditions."
