Just had mvd

Ok please forgive me in advance as I am still very groggy and have new phone. So , I finally had mvd on Thursday, I seriously am so thankful as I was at my breaking point. Dr said when he went in it was one if the worst cases he has seen, the nerves were mangled inside. Surgery was suppose to b 4 1/2 hours ended up almost 7. I was in ICU just got in regular room and this is first time I am able to even See on my phone. I’m not gonna lie for me pain is excruciating and I was very sick from anasthesia. The left side if my face is still numb and has Bell’s palsy and my left side if body is very weak. I have blood clot issue so they think the inflamation might have caused some small strokes. On the positive side the zaps are gone and I am praying the will stay that way. I am getting sharp pains in top if my head but not trigeminal area probably from the halo that causes holes. I have a lot of fluid still in my head, can actually hear the squishy sounds. I was also asked to be in a spinal fluid study.

Anyway, I made it through and I’m so happy I kept perusing it and didn’t listen to the first dr at unc that said it as probably severed nerves fromy he replacement surgery. Now my next step is to investigate what could have caused this, triggered it. The bad part right now is my weakness and I can’t get up and the pain is excruciating with small breaks if relief. Dr said simple things like talking or watching to or using phone can cause overstimulation. I just wanted to share as much of my story I could b4 I forget. Oh and I can’t look up or sit up all the way without the room spinning like crazy.

Cbec, ((( hugs ))) take good care of you and rest, rest, rest! I hope the TN pain stays away and your recovery goes well, sending positive thoughts!! Mimi xx

Rest and catch up with us when you can and most importantly should!

The "screws" that held me in place for 7 and a half hours gave me the most pain after the surgery also -- but the pain in the mastoid bone was the worst and unfortunately still is now. Hopefully that will be coming to an end this week after 14 months.

Hugs and prayers coming to you in a HUGE Texas way!

Wow! You better rest! I laid around for 3 weeks!!!

Best of luck to you and God speed your recovery. What a brave soul you are!

Hang in there!! Each day will get a little better, rest as much as you can!

So happy for you!
