Ok How many of us cannot even enjoy ice cream? I just eat it and suffer as this will chill the nerve in my face. Wow what a pain. Brain freeze to the face.
I totally agree… Icecream, ice, anything real cold
Hi there Lauren
Lots of different things are ‘triggers’ for TN pain, however (for what its worth) this sort of pain I’d associate more with a hole in my tooth or sensitive teeth. Ive had sensitive teeth for years, way begore this sucky condition came into my life, so perhaps if you can get a dentist to check out your teeth it may reduce this trigger and therefore reduce your overall TN pain? Just a thought… Totally get the pain you feel - it is horrendous and very debilitating! So sucky that you can’t even enjoy the delights of ice cream!
Best of luck, let us know how you go. Steph

Ice cream is crap shoot for me. It is either the worst pain induce thing, numbing to pain, or no reaction at all. So it scares the hell out due to the pain inducing it can do; how messed is that being scared of one of most delightful treats to mankind?!? On the few times I do eat it, I’ll let it warm up do its more on the melted side. Also I skip any flavor that has chucks of anything, in case the chucks start an attack in my mouth. I really miss the only worry before of what flavor to get, now there’s so much guessing and worrying about the pure joy of ice cream seems lost. It’s depressing and sad.
Tiny little bites on the other side of mouth, frustrating because it takes so long to eat the rest in the bowl gets all soupy!
I can eat ice cream, its hard to chew stuff that gets me, like pizza crust (crap I love pizza) and steak. I really dont have triggers for this other than humidity.
Wendy
I have been able to eat ice cream but I can’t eat pinnacles I think they trigger my TN
Tiny little bites, placed exactly in the right spot in your mouth, one baby spoonful at a time. With extreme caution!
Tiny bites is right.
I have found that small bites placed exactly into my other side of mouth works. But when i get carried away and forget to be controlled it makes it worse!
