i am going to see another neurologist @ the mayo clinic this month and i was asked to hand carry in any/all notes pertaining to my condition ... i received the notes in the mail today from the surgeon who performed the gamma knife on me in April ... i am livid ... in his assessment he states, "this patient is extremely unusual", " her affect seems to me to be possibly slightly inappropriate for a patient allegedly in severe pain. She is jovial and does not outwardly appear to be in severe pain. The lack of movement in her mandible when talking is also very unusual. Often the pain is just as intense as prior to treatment but I have never seen it be more intense, as she alleges at this time. i have never experienced any patient with TN who suffered escalation of pain post GKSRS ... i feel like he is calling me a liar ... did he want me to be wailing, on my knees with my face buried in my hands ... since childhood, i have always been the person who laughs at inappropriate times ... two years ago my pcp asked me if i understood what he was explaining to me because i giggled and smiled the whole time he was telling me i had a thoracic aneurysm ... he walked out of the room when i laughed and asked, "so does this mean they are going to crack my chest open ?"
