Does anyone out there have humana insurance and know how they react to approving MVD and how they are with trying to get waivers for doctors and hospitals not on their list. The best neuro hospital in PHX is not on my insurance list. I have only tried Gabapentin but I am not interested in trying anyother Med I just want the MVD and get it over with
I don't know how you feel about this, but it might be worth your while to check out your healthcare options on the ACA website (Obamacare). You never know but there might be an insurance that will cover it. I know that Kaiser covers it, with a copay. I already told my neuro that I want surgery and she said after I'd been on a few more meds she'd approve that I could go to talk with a surgeon. At the very least, you'll find nothing at the best you just might find an insurance that will cover it. Kaiser has no problem with MRI's either. My neuro will schedule one when needed and I only pay a copay of $100.00. Check into it.
I don’t know… But I’m interested in finding out too. I have Humana (through Medicare) and may need MVD sometime in future. Not sure how much medical care you have needed or how many procedures or surgeries you’ve had, but in my case Humana has wanted me to try other options if available or have medical reason why i can’t try other options and then they have been good about approving major things.
