Home From the Hospitsl - MVD surgeruy went well

I had my surgery on 2/12/o9, The surgery took longer than expected, but so far I have not experienced any significant side-effects I have a follow-up appointment on Tuesday, Prior to going. under I asked the doctor, what if you go in and find nothing. He replied he would be very surprised and ir would be a first for him. What did they find. One large vein intertwined wire the nerve that had to be cauterize/a bone pressing on the nerve. one vein that had to be stretched out in order to pt in a pad as one other vein that could be treated with a pad inserted between the vein and the nerve

Post-operatively I have been very sleepy with a some difficulty finding my balance Mainly I am just tired. Exhausted!!I I feel like I am making up for all the sleep I lost over the last 9 weeks, It is hard to type But I wanted to say thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. They certainly made a big difference thank you to AL

Peace and tenderness sent you way,
aleshia

Hi Aleshia,

I’m glad it went so well, and as Gracie says I’m glad they found something ( there can’t be many illnesses that you hope they do!) and yes you are home very quickly. Get lots of rest and take things slowly.

Love Jo X x

Welcome to the Recovery Room!!!
Now Sarah and I have someone else to hang out with…I’m sure there are others but I’m new here only since my MVD on January 20th, so haven’t read all the threads yet.

I believe Sarah had her 4 week post-op anni a couple of days ago so we’re all freshly MVD’d.
Take it easy on yourself.

Thinking about you again today Aleshia. I hope you are getting some much-needed rest.

Take it easy and be patient with yourself.

I am happy you are home safe and sound. Thankful also that you have 2 other women on here that you can share this experience with on a very personal level. I would think that having them and all of us supporting you will give you some extra peace of mind.
Super soft gentle hug,
Stephanie

I am SO glad all went well and that you are home. Take the time to rest and sleep, this will help in your healing and recovery. And thank you for letting us know. I will continue to pray as you go through recovery.

Take care and here is a huge hug from me!

Debbie

Aleshia…That is wonderful news that you are home and recovering and that all went well! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you rest and regain your strength.
Take good care Aleshia…Judy

Once Again thank you all for you prayer and warm thoughts. I am still a little slow moving and have a pretty good headache from the head stabilizer, I will see Dr. Sekula in the am. other than that it all good. I am glad i had the surgery and knowing what I know now, I am glad I didn’t wait for another flare-up. In hindsght, I fear it would not have been a good result as I was done suffering and would have quite possibly taken matters in to my own hands… i am ever so gateful for sleep and supportive friends and family… I AM VERY BLESSED!!

Hi Aleshia,

Let me join in with everyone else in saying how happy I am to hear your surgery went so well and that you’re home safe and sound! Sleep as much as your body tells you too! It is the only way you’ll be able to make up that sleep you’ve lost. I know how that feels. I’ve just been through 3 months of TN attacks that were unrelenting, prolonged and as bad as I’ve ever known them to be, so I know how you were feeling. Since my last ER & Neuro appointment 4 days ago, I’ve known some relief. Whether it’s just a temporary relief or a combination of that and the new meds I’ve been on for the past four days I will never know. But my new meds are making me sleep a lot. I missed my nap yesterday and this morning, didn’t even wake up at all till my phone rang just over half an hour ago - which here in Australia - was at 12:35 pm in the afternoon…

Take it easy! I’m sending you all my well wishes for a speedy and full recovery as soon as is possible!

Cheers ~ Kerry xx

Glad you are doing well. And most happy that you have not experienced any complications. Liz
