Have you had any injections to help u with ur TN? Glycerol injections? Botox? What is the best injection to help with TN?

My Mother had a MVD and the pain almost came back immediately. It's been increasing progressively and we're now looking at injections and I'm trying to find the least invasive and safest injection.

Please share your experience and knowledge.

Glycerol is normally not administered in peripheral shots, though it is used in a form of Rhizotomy by deep injection. Botox results seem to be rather spotty, with some patients reporting a few weeks relief from a series of Botox injections. Of greater interest but still not a long term solution might be Stellate Ganglion Blocks administered with Lydocaine. My personal advice would be for your mother to consult with the physician who did her MVD, to evaluate her prospects for a second procedure of the same sort. I've talked with any number of patients over the years for whom the second time was "the charm".
