Facial Pain From Laughing Crying or Talking

This happens sometimes. time. If I laugh, cry or talk my throbbing and pain starts. Has anyone experienced this?

Any movement to my jaw area would trigger pain. Makeup, washing my face, brushing my teeth and talking, laughing, eating. Pretty much anything was a trigger. It was torture.

Talking and laughing too much can set off an episode for me also . Even with the Meds. I don't cry that often so I am not sure about that .

I will get on the phone with my brother sometimes after work late night and we will laugh and talk - Most of the time 1-2 hours I have to cut it off due to a pain episode . I just recently made this connection and it really sucks . I enjoyed this and he has trouble understanding why I needed to cut our conversations off abruptly .

This has been happening for a long time and he is aware of my problem , but not the connection between talking laughing and pain??

What a cruel disease - slowly taking away everything .

This diseas has a mind of it's own, you never know when it is going to strike. I sometimes write notes to my husband because I am scared to talk. As soon as I laugh I feel it. It is a cruel diseas taking away my ability to do the every day things I use to do. I know how you feel and I am so sorry.

Have you tried lidocaine face patches or cream? It can take the edge off many of us!

I try so hard not to disturb the area but sometimes I can't help it. Washing my face and trying to take off make up is torture. I thought the meds were suppose to stop all of this but they don't. Monday was torture because I washed my face and touched the area by mistake. Yesterday was a good day, and today stinks to high heaven. I get frustrated because three months ago I didn't have any problems then I had a cleaning and it started, my dentist thought it was because the filling was loose and then there was a root canal and because he thought it was a dental problem he pulled my tooth. Now I can't have any thing put there because it irritates the nerve. I am ashamed to go out, as it is my front tooth. This is a evil disease it takes all hope away.

I have never heard of lidocaine. I did read that a cream with capsicum in it will help.

Yes. All of the above at times. I played Cards Against Humanity this past weekend and it cost me in a flare of pain.

Sometimes I can't talk, have to sit quietly. Laughing I try not to do.
