Can TN be a one time event?

I have a friend who is a PA, I called her to ask her opinion, and she also relayed a story of how her mother had TN many decades ago, and she only had the one episode, it never returned. Anyone else hear any such stories?

First episode I had was 25 years ago and didn't have any more until March this year, so had long period of remission. Since March however I have had symptoms almost daily but with the meds bearable. Have only had 3 bad episodes since then. Don't know if this helps.

Hi bunnie63,

I have ATN and I had about 7 years between attacks. My mother has Type I TN and she also has years between her attacks. Throughout her adult life she has had about 5 month long attacks.
