Astralagus for Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia

Hey group,

Ive read on here a woman who was helped by taking a chinese medicine called Astralagus. Soooo ive gone out and gotten myself some from the local naturopath and am going to be a guinea pig to see if they work.

Ive gotten a brand called Ki. Immune Defence & Energy Forumla: Contains Astralagus membranaceus 5g, Lentinula edodes mushroom 3g (shiitake mushroom) and Olea europea leaf 2g (Olive Leaf). The reason i got this forumalted one was beacuse it had 5grams of astralagus and the other ones she had with astralagus alone were only 850mg.

So if anyone with ATN has tried this and it has helped or had any experience with it let us know about it below.

Thanks Luke

Hi Luke,

I also started the astragalus last week. We shall see!

Please keep us posted on your results!

So its almost a month ive been taking 5mg of astralagus every day and unfortunately there hasnt been a dent in my ATN pain.. Im going to give it another month but im not too hopeful anymore that this is a miracle cure for us...

how are you going with it Jamie ?

The astragalus hasn’t been a miracle cure for me either…where is our miracle? I’m waiting…!

Please keep us informed about the results! There is an Asian herb called Kratom that is taken by tea or capsule and has strong pain killing properties. Almost like opiates. It can be bought in USA online. I have read many different natural and Chinese treatments. If you go to "FORUM/DISCUSSIONS", then type my name in the search box there (Sheila Wall) a couple of natural remedy discussions will show up. Like every treatment, some work for some people, some don't work for some people, but we need to try all the options until we find which combination of treatments help us.

Anyone reading this, you want to search online for astragalus instead of astragalus. The cheapest place with the most brands available are on that website. The Ki you mention, could it really say Qi? (pronounced chi, because chi is life energy in Chinese, and the root of astragalus is called Huang Chi.)

If you can find the link to that product online, I think many would appreciate it. I think most of us would jump to take something that is effective and without the horrid side affects of anti-seizure meds.

Hoping it works for you!

Sheila
