Status quo.

Pain is more constant, should I say, irritating. Somebody stabs me every other heartbeat, with rubber icepick. While the pain is not so loud, it has begun to be very hard to eased. Laying down does not necessarily help any more.

I’m getting used to Baclofen. It does not make me so dizzy anymore. It does not make me even very tired, but when I lay down and I don’t have pain, I fell in the sleep instantly. Like Narcolepsy?

It’s so sudden that it’s kind of funny.

If this gets worse?

Here, where I live, I have to go to local health center. There I wait for general doctor for a couple of hours. From he/she I get a paper to go to hospital at downtown. There is no neurologies(of course I have to wait and see GP there also), so from there I get a paper to go to another hospital, which won’t take me in without this proper round.

Imagine pain so bad, that it makes you faint sometimes, to do this long trip. I won’t do it very easily.

If this is this?

Well I go to south.

I still haven’t heard a whisper from my neurologies. Luckily this is bearable. I think this TN is not taken seriously enough here in Finland.

Yikes! That sounds like a miserable day...going from one hospital to another, all with no help. Is it possible that this condition is not very well known in Finland? Maybe they just don't see enough cases to know what it is. I see comments on this site from people here in America that have been subjected to doctors who obviously are not familiar with this condition. That is very disheartening, no matter what country you are in.

Does anyone know if there are any international medical associations that specialize in TN and related conditions? If we can find such a group, perhaps Juha-Matti can locate a physician in Finland who is familiar with this condition. If anyone has a good neurologist or a good resoure at a major hospital - can you ask about the existence of such a medical association?? I am new to TN, and don't have those resources yet myself.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Thanks Leslie for a comment.

This condition here is very rare. And the main problem is that they do not get the intense of pain. Quality of live is that there’s ain’t no live. They seem’s to notice, that the pain won’t kill you, which is not necessarily a good thing then, when your pain is at worst.
Remembering I state “the guy” that won’t whine if I brake my leg or arm. But when this pain comes, I’m a absolute invalid.

The hospital sightseeing is when I have to go to ER. Of course there are good neurologists at the hospitals, but you have to make a appointment. That takes weeks to have it. When your TN is bad, even days are long to bare.

I have a good neurologist, but he’s hardly ever reachable. Last time I send emails to him and he called to neuro-ER ward and after that they took me straight, without that ridigilous hospital tour.

Thanks.
