One week after Gamma Knife and wow what a difference. Most of the effects from the surgery have gone away. Still slight headache and soreness around the screw sites but healing more everyday. I think the headache, dizziness and fatigue are the same as before the surgery. These were coming from the meds. I have already cut back one pill. Can only quit one per week so four more to go but I think then all of the effects will be gone. I have not shocked in the last TWO DAYS!!! I have washed my face and brushed my teeth better than I have been able to in 6 months. It feels great! Please check into Gamma Knife if you have not already. It sounds scary and it is but I think it was the right answer for me and it may be for you too. You need to keep searching for a doctor near you and at least discuss it. I wish everyone could find the type of relief that I am expecting to continue for me. You are all in my prayers!
Wonderful news!!! So happy for you!
Sharon,
Very good news. Isn’t it great to be able to brush your teeth and wash your face without the pain? It was for me. But it was a long time before I was able to get over the fear. I hope you will continue to be pain free.
Liz
I know what you mean about the fear. I don’t know if the fear ever goes away. Once you have had this dreadful condition, I think you will always be anxious and nervous about a relaspe. I am so excited about the possibilities now!

This is wonderful news! I’m so glad to hear that you are well on your way to having your life back. The “screw-holes” do stay sore for awhile, but that’s minor compared to the pain you were living with. It’s a great feeling to be able to discontinue the meds, isn’t it? I took my last Neurontin a couple of days ago… WooHoo!
I can’t wait to get to that last pill. Down to three a day now, so soon, I will hope to be DRUG FREE!~
