Hi, I'm new to dealing with TN and it's pain. Wondering if it's normal for pains to get worse from working out? Last two weight workouts the pain has started shortly after starting and it seems like if I do the elliptical at the rate I'm used to, that causes pains too. Normal?
Each o the three times I went through physical therapy for my back injury my tn would flare. The first time was the worst because I never expected it. Anything to do with the upper body seemed to set me off. The worst was when they had me do planks which was disappointing because I loved what it was doing for my tummy.
I too have tried to exercise. I love to exercise. It seems like it makes me have flares every single time I do anything. How am I supposed to lose weight if I can’t exercise. I cannot take pain medication just because I decided to go for a walk or do the elliptical or Zumba. The government and doctors have cracked down on pain medication so much that I am scared to ask for Tramadol. I has a prescription for that filled in December and still have several left. I just try to deal with the pain.
I went for a walk at the park, the breeze across the water hit me and I wanted to sit down and cry. I was 1/2 mile away from my car. It felt like someone was jamming a screwdriver into my ear and my cheek.
I have an elliptical. I tried just doing 15 minutes, my face goes bright red and the pain comes. I am right there with ya on this.
Lisa, is the elliptical where you have your arms on the machine? I have found that I cannot do anything like that which is easy for me as I abhor exercise. For 28 years I worked at a physical job so I welcome the break. There was a crazy spell at my old pharmacy about 2 years ago where they seemed to freak over my amount of gabapentin. I switched pharmacies and they don't bat an eyelash now. I found some help with nortriptyline added to my regime.
Yes I have also tried it without using the arm pulls but it still brings on an attack.
