Unusual taste in mouth

Anyone get this unusual taste in your mouth, almost like a sweetness. I have a lot of pain in my mouth. Sometimes it also feels like a coldness on the inside upper gum area. It drives me crazy. I wonder if I increase my nortriptyline it would help any.

I don't have a sweet taste but I salivate a metallic taste on the affected side of my face.

I have a metallic blood taste whenever my teeth are killing me with this. I take , believe it or not, fiorinal with codeine for my migraines to relieve the tooth pain. I am also on celexia for the ear pain and that has really helped. I had a glycerol rhizotomy a month ago and that got rid of the stabbing pains, but it is starting to wear off already and I get an occasional lightning bolt that last for a few seconds. I notice every time the teeth hurt, it tastes like blood and metal. I also noticed that I smell oranges or fire all the time when its acting up, very weird

I guess smelling oranges is better than say, skunk!

When my pain first starts it seems to always start with tooth pain and then moves into the lower jaw. I also can tolerate no chewing on that side as my teeth become hypersensitive to pressure for a couple of days. I have leaching of metal from fillings into my upper gums so wondered if that contributed to the metallic taste or if it is from having metal in my mouth for years. I'm sure none of that helps!
