Trip

My husband and I have been planning this trip for a long time... My pain got stubborn and more intense since April after GK, but we already had the tickets. In the hopes that the new medications and combinations would work, we didn't change the tickets, but the pain refuses to give up.

This will be the first time my husband goes to Chile, my country. We have decided that we will still go because it's important for me, for him, and for my family. I haven't been back home since 2006. Things have changed in Concepcion since the earthquake of 2010. But I long to be there, to see my extended family, etc.

We have decided to still go... just hope that the happiness of being back home and introduce my husband to my environment, to the place where grew up in, and being with loved ones reduces the pain. When the spirit is at peace, the body follows.

Time is coming 5 days... I'll be home soon.

Best wishes for a wonderful trip Carolina. Min

I hope you have a great trip. I'm afraid to travel since developing ATN/TNP. However, when I try to be logical about it, if you're going to be in pain at home, why be in pain on a vacation? Maybe the rest and relaxation will help calm your pain. Good luck!

You probably already took care of this, but I think there are rules/forms you need to fill out in order to bring your medications, particularly if you use opiates, so keep that in mind.

Have a wonderful trip.

3 days to go. Today I can't talk without triggering an attack. grrr!

The trip was good. It was so nice to be with the family. We didn’t do much since my pain prevented me from going out. I had a couple of good days and a few really bad days. It was embarrassing having to get up and run to the kitchen when an attack came by or having an attack in front of the family. You know, Hispanic families are big and we spent a lot a time together. My attacks are shorter now, but so painful.
