Dear friends: I have been on trileptal for about 6 months now and it seems my hair is thinning and falling out? ahhh anyone else experience this and is this common. I am going to be tested also for Lyme disease (if my doc will order it) as this past summer I must have pulled 6 ticks a day off of me in Kansas...I see my doc on Thurs. and don't know what to ask for?

My hair did not get thin with that… But with my thyroid . Also, for the first time in decades I have shoulder length hair because I take biotin every day! It’s a vitamin B .
CALL ASK PHARMACIST if trilepetal can cause hair loss… They are the side effect guru!

Hi Jean I took trileptal for about two years. I have very thick hair but on trileptal it thinned so much, my hair line receded and I thought I would literally go bald if I didn't do something. I asked the doc for a medicine change, started taking biotin and within 2 months I started seeing fuzz back on my forehead.
Hair loss also seems to come from Wellbuterin. I have been taking it for about 3 months now and am starting to handfuls of hair falling out when I wash and comb my hair. I never had this problem with Cymbalta.

I am having the same problem with gabapentin and it is driving me crazy TN is bad enough but not bald! what medicine did your doctor change you to have started taking the biotin I hope it helps

I started taking Trileptal five years ago and I lose a lot of hair each day in the shower and after I comb once I get out. I have thick hair, so without it I wouldn’t have a lot of hair. When I started the medication I was wondering what was going on with the hair loss which I finally linked to Trileptal. I didn’t have hair loss before and once I started it I was losing a lot of hair. I have tried different conditioners and shampoos, but nothing seems to help
