Blow drying the dogs. Ok, I groom dogs. no getting away from this one. I take meds if its a bad day.
Bright lights, not the lights themselves, but me squinting will set me off. Sunglasses and turning down the brightness of my computer, and also replacing bulbs in the lamps I am around, with lower wattage, are things I am going to try.
These are my triggers: Definitely wind or a breeze of any kind, especially if its cold. Watching games outside is a no-no unless I have a scarf.
Ceiling fans - these can really make me sore - I cannot tolerate them even for a minute. I have become better at asking people to turn fans off around me if I feel uncomfortable. Very important because I never did this in the past - don't sit and suffer.
Cold drinks, cold food, ice-cream, yoghurt - any of these foods will trigger a painful attack :-(
Bending my neck while working or exercising will trigger lightning shots. Also if I become very tense or stressed, this seems to aggravate the facial muscles and trigger an attack.
I also dread getting a cold, because it goes immediately to my sinuses which swell and then impact the trigeminal nerve causing some bad pain.
My TN is right side, I take Gabapentin daily, increased dosage lately, bad attacks. But like you, I groom dogs, mine, they show and are huge (love em!), but I find if I use my right side in a continous way, brushing, etc. it sets me off so I have tried to learn to use my left arm more. The forced air dryer I am careful never to get too accidently get near my face with the air. Anything with a vibration also is not good, clippers, dremel (for nails), etc. But these are things that need to be done so I just do a little and take breaks, harder when you do it for a living, but you have brought many great points up that many of us share. And it sucks to have a convertible that you can't put the top down on!!!
Oh the triggers. It’s always hurts but triggers that make it worse…eating, wearing glasses, reading, cold breeze, putting on makeup, taking off makeup, wearing hats (I miss wearing a baseball cap on bad hair days or to keep the sun out of my eyes) bending over.
