So, I've been doing a lot of research about TN as well as Eagle Syndrome and find that there are strong commonalities between the two. I have a diagnosis of ATN, but am wondering if I might actually be suffering from Eagle Syndrome.
Has anyone else been misdiagnosed between the two or been tested for either or both?

I thought I had Eagles then had a CT scan that did not show calcified styloids ; although I wonder if they are elongated and did not measure them. I was then Dxd with Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia & TN; just had MVD surgery 24 days ago. You should also check out Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia as there may be more common symptoms with it and Eagles than Eagles and TN. GPN and Eagles both affect the Glossopharyngeal nerve as I understand it.
My acupuncturist recently suggested that I get tested for Eagle Syndrome, based on the "hot" points he was finding with his German point device and my symptoms. So I told my chiropractor who took another look at his x-rays and realized that I do have it. Now I have an appointment scheduled with an ENT to get it confirmed. I have complained of certain symptoms to my neurologist and he has dismissed them saying they weren't associated with Eagle. We'll see won't we...I wonder if it is a true misdiagnosis or if tn, eagle and Horners might all be related. Have to see my neurologist about Horner's next week because my pupils are no longer the same size, and my eye dr thinks it is either Horner's or an after effect of my MVD surgery. Maybe getting to the root cause of all of this misery.
Kreeves, I have ES as well as TN1 and 2. You will find very quickly after joining the ES group that doctors are VERY reluctant to diagnose ES and also very hesitant to say that any of the symptoms our fellow sufferers are having are from ES.I also belong to the ES group and so many of the symptoms they describe sound like TN, but so few ever get that diagnosis. there just HAS to be a correlation. Go figure!
