Trigeminal Neuralgia Illustrations

Hello Fellow Disordered,

Using the Yahoo search engine, I entered "trigeminal neuralgia illustrations"in the search box. On the results page the 4th entry from the top reads " trigeminal neuralgia illustrations-image results" It is accompanied by 4 small illustrations Click on to it.The http address result is the following :

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?_adv_prop=image&fr=moz2-ytff-&va=trigeminal+neuralgia+illustration

You will find a compilation of hundreds of illustrations. You can click on to make them full page illustrations. Very cool.

The results page also directs you to many other illustration sites.

I hope you can find the above site. Remember, I found this using the Yahoo search engine. I couldn't come up with a link address other than the lengthy one provided above. If any of you discover an easier pathway to the site, please let us know. Once there, bookmark it. You'll visit it often. I find it very helpful and informative.

Also, there is interesting stuff on You Tube, including Living with TN Support Group. (10th from top) Beware of You Tube. There's lot of whacky therapies, cures and treatments.

Good luck,

SFBill

Bill, would you mind my including this link on the Face Pain Info page, with discovery credit to you?

Regards, Red

thanks a lot of sharing, wanted to say, that I allready found some suitable information!

Thanks for the link. I checked out the pictures and I notice that none of the illustrations show pain that would be on the inside of the throat or the outside of the neck. But I have that pain every day, along with the other pain. Is this unusual?

Kathy

Kathy,

The pain you are describing in your throat or neck might be "glossopharyngeal" neuralgia -- involving the 10th cranial nerve rather than the fifth. Same basic processes, different nerve. GN isn't quite as common as TN, but it's not unusual for patients to deal with both.

I had the pain on the inside of the throat. I had an eperdermoid cyst/tumor that was causing TN and during the pain episodes I had extreme pain down the throat as if I was choking or being strangled. The tumor was presurring the other nerves as well. Red is correct, it is because of this pressure on a different cranial nerve. Fortunately for me, my pain days appear over since my operation.

Good Luck,

Jerry
