Top and inside of head pain

I have pains that start in top of my head. Its not stabbing, i want to say sizzling. i dont know how else to describe it. its very irritating! its not like a headache just a strange sensation. when i wake up thats usually the first thing that starts to bother me rather than my face. its my head. is this tn?

You should go to your doc to make sure.

i already have tn but what the heck? i hope i am not getting something else too. i see my doctor on monday morning.

i have alot of pains all over my head mines alot similar although i would call mine more like searing it only last for a few seconds and its mostly when i laying down i sleep on my stomach so my head is always turned one way or another. Im pretty positive that it would be your tn

It is likely connected to your TN. TN triggered massive burning searing pain in my forehead and top of my head. I asked my surgeon about them before my MVD and he said they are very likely related. After MVD, no TN pain and no searing pain.

Tell your neurologist about this. Good Luck

yes i get that - i thought it was connected to the terrible stabbing pain i get in my eye as the symptom youi describes follows that - and yes it is very weird!

I have that too especially in the morning when I wake up, cant wait to get the first pain killers of the day down my throat, I am new to al this, guess we have to get used to it. Will it eventually go away?

Stay strong

Are you on any anti-depressants? Effexor has a side effect that is described exactly like you have stated. I was on that anti depressant before I had TN. Once I weaned off that, a few weeks later the sensation/pain/discomfort stopped.

google a McGill pain scale - print it off - mark your symptoms - and take it to your doctor..... very effective tool.

I have that same pain most of the time. I have written it off as just another pain in my head. When it's really bad, I take a Meloxicam at night and that helps for most of the rest of the day.

On a funny note, I have three children, two grown and one 11 and for months I kept thinking I was getting lice. I had mirrors up in every direction, as well as my husband constantly picking through my hair. Finally my DR said that it was the TN. Woo Hoo!!

It seems I get both the stabbing pain and the ongoing forever burning pain.

Tell your doctor, and don't scratch, it makes it worse.

Hi, how strange is that I cant stop scratching my scalp I sit there in front of the tv constantly running my hand thru my hair and scratching. So pleased I read this post. I am on Citalopram 1 a day and Lyrica 2 a day plus paracetamol and codeine and vitamin B1. At first taking 2 antidepressants in the morning wiped me out. I adjusted the meds and took the citalopram at night with the Lyrica. Wow I sleep all night and I am awake during the day. fantastic. The pain meds seem to be working and although the pain is still there it is bearable.

Woke up this morning and I am feeling a lot better, hope it lasts.

love to all x
