Pain on top of head

Feeling terrible this pm. wake at 4m with boring buring pain on top of my head and feel as if someone is pudhing red hot wire along nerve in face. phoned ooh and advised to increase tegretol to 600g in divided doses. did so hour ago and pain on top of head worsening. don't know what to do now.

Any suggestions anyone.

Thanks for the info. was despearate to try anything. I am currently sitting with ice pack on top of head relief from burning almost immediate. Thank you so much for helping.

Are you also taking Neurontin? When I had the type of pain you described, I found great relief in adding Neurontin to the Tegretol.. It made me loopy, but really helped the boring type of pain.

Hi Browncat,

I am on Tegretol and duloxetine, they don't want to add other meds until after MRI on Monday, but will discuss with docs
