Hi all. Yesterday I was a bit sick and dizzy. Lately as I’ve mentioned before I’ve started getting daily pain in the base of my skull at really specific points. This morning I have woken with throat pain on the same side. Has anyone else had these symptoms? It really hurts.
Hi Helen,
First, you may be getting an infection – throat/lymph nodes, if you are feeling sick. Any fever? Perhaps a doctor visit is in order?
I get swollen lymph nodes and throat/tonsils on my TN side only that will sometimes go into infections. My throat has always been a weak point in my body; throat/tonsil infections growing up and as an adult, so I explain mine as the TN just taking advantage of the weak point that is right there. It does not make this stuff any easier. I have read somewhere on here that TN has swelled lymph nodes on others.
Yes, I also get base of skull, upper neck pain. I have significant deterioration of my neck vertebrae and bone spurs that might explain some of my neck pain. An upper cervical chiropractor did make it much better, but I cannot afford it anymore. Also, I’ve read on here that the neck pain can also be Occipital Neuralgia…my neuro poo-pooed the idea, but it is an idea!
Take care,
Pam
Hi all well here’s a little update. I’ve been to a physio today for my daughter and while I was there I asked about the back of my head pain. She felt it and showed me on a diagram what was happening to the head and neck. Interestingly she said these nerves run to the hand. So I then explained about the numbness in my hand and right side. She told me that the nerve is getting pitched causing numbness. I’ve booked myself an apt for after my nerve block and she says she will try to releive some of the tension in my head. She says he pain is there from long term effects of experiencing pain in that area over a long period of time.
