Hi All! I am having a huge problem with my teeth. Need lots of dental work as I have neglected my teeth for a number of years. I substituted Coca Cola for some other harmful things I was drinking. I need about $10,000.00 in dental work done. I cracked a tooth Monday and went in and saw a different dentist than I usually see. He told me he would not do any procedures on someone with TN that is not in remission. He referred me to a dental school. They seemed happy to book an evaluation appointment for me as they do studies on TN. I left that dentist’s office with a huge pit in the bottom of my stomach. Hopefully the dental school will have some answers on what I should do. I see them on Friday for that evaluation. Has anyone had similiar problems with dental work and TN pain? I am at my wits end with this.
I am going to University of Colorado Dental School. I am very much hoping they will help me with the cost as part of their research. When I first called they told me they did not have an opening til mid-June. I told the scheduling lady about my TN. Of course she did not know what it was. Anyway she said she would show the resident. She then called back and asked me to come in Friday - Guess it helps to have TNas far as dental students go.
With my recent dental work following my diagnosis I chose not to get the novocaine shot - much to the Dentists relief as he was nervous about injecting me right by my nerve. That said it was only a small shallow filling, so not too painful in itself.
Sarah is right Residents love unusual disorders!!
I wish you all the best - I get terrible tooth pain with my TN flare-ups.
Take care
