Tn and barometric pressure

Hello, I have been in this site with all of you for about a year now, and I absolutely love it. I have had my severe TN under control for the last couple of months with NORTRIPTYLINE and was doing well, until here in California where we are experiencing a severe drought, the barometric pressure changed last week and we had two days of rain. I experienced the most severe and overwhelming TN attack I have had yet! I had three straight non-stop hours of constant, severe, shocks and pain to where my body was in seizure like electricity was running through it I have had many, many attacks in the past, but this was a 50 on a scale of 10. My poor husband was at a loss. I doubled my medication, took Norco and a muscle relaxer. It finally calmed down, but threw me for a complete loop. My face was sore for days. This is a horrible affliction that we share, and I appreciate this site so much. It saddens me to read the horrible emotional stories. I too, in the past have posted sad and desperate stories as well. Has anyone out there experienced this TN attack because of the barometric pressure?

Thank you so much.

Debbie

Yes! It happened to me today. I’m always in a little pain but this morning when I woke up the pain was more than usual. I mentioned it to my husband and he said it was probably due to the weather. We’ve been almost a month without rain but today it rained. Later this afternoon I had an attack. I took more of my meds than usual and after about 5 hours the pain finally subsided. I’m convinced now it’s due to the weather.

I have to add when my husband thought it was because of the weather I thought he was crazy. I now believe him.

Thanks. It was my husband too that suggested it was because of the weather. I will now double up when change is coming. It is supposed to rain here tomorrow night so I will take heed. Debbie

Yes, I can definitely tell sometimes when storm is coming. Especially with the change of seasons, fall mostly, here in Pennsylvania. This year started in Aug and kept up till now. Mostly pain upper and lower teeth. Then came the shocks. Seems to be calming down a little. In 3.5 years of having this only missed 1 or 2 days of work. Out this past whole week. Going to hopkins again for consult. Had rhizotomy there a year ago and really cannot say I was a lot better. So I also feel like barometric pressure plays a role. Thinking of you and hugs.

I'm right there with you. It is raining here in California today and my jaw is a literal lightening storm.

I live in Maine, where the weather seems to constantly change, and I definitely feel the changes. I haven’t quite figured out how to change my medicine or when, so I still have quite painful days. I’m threatening to move to Arizona, though.

Yes i'm in Beaumont CA and when it rains it's worse. It's windy here as well so cold wind and rain do it to me.

I shut myself in a little extra room with the heater and stay there until it subsides. But were close to the mountains so it's a challenge. Where are you in California?

Hello, I am in Sonoma, the Northern California Wine Country, so we are in a Valley, which adds to the barometric pressure. No fun for any of us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Debbie

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Yes! I am a long time gamma knife low to no pain survivor.

The only pain I have is during barometric swings. I goes away as soon as

the barometric pressure levels out.
