Dear All,
I am suffering with really horrible pains at the moment. Ive been fine for a year and suddenly its all come back. I’ve up’ed my dose to 1500mg Tergratol and 450mg Lamatrigine and its still not working. Ive had an attack this am again 
Just wondering who else is on the same cocktail I am on ?
Not I, but I hope you’ll be feeling better soon. I do know that Tegretol takes several days to take effect for me.

I take Trileptal (an analog drug of Tegretol) and Lamitrogene. I am currently going up in dose on Lamitrogene and am at a steady dose of Trileptal. I am still having some pain but have just recently began taking Lamitrogene (75 mg. per day at the moment). I would visit your neurologist or GP if your pain persists as I have had similar troubles with other meds. I began to have break-through pain as the med I was taking at the time (Neurontin) had began to stop working (from what i have read many of the meds we take for TN do have shelf life in many cases). In my experience it does take some time to begin to have relief once you begin to increase your dosage level. I hope that you get some relief soon! All my best and I hope the above helps! Johanna

ive been to my neurologist and hes up’ed my dose on both, originally i was on 600mg of tegretol and 100mg of lamatrigine for the day.
Intrestingly my GP has now prescribed me Sumatriptan to have whenever I have an attach. Its not worked so far but im willing to give it a go. Has anyone else had that?

I’m on this cocktail, 400mg of lamictal and 900mg oxcarbazepine. It seems to come and go, I’ve reduced pain by 50% - 25% given the day. I’ve tried to go 600mg (L) and 1250 mg (OX), I had double vision and I started spinning wasn’t fun. I started having margarines again so I introduced verampimil 180mg er back into the spectrum. About the only thing that seems to get me through the day is oxycodine. The problem is I have now built a tolerance and am up to 30-40mg a day :/.
I’m going to the neuro on October 1, hopefully I’ll get some new answers :(. Hope you have a better day today :).

I haven’t tried lamatrigine. I am sure your doctor has tried other medications. Have you had an MRI?
