I got a lot of support and help from my support group here. A year has passed with many painful days. After surgery I stayed home for 3 months to recover. I live by myself and it took me a while to heal completely. I recovered from the awful TN pain. After the surgery I had a lot of constant headache and pressure on the right side of my head. My Dr. said oh it will take a while to recover and heal completely. Now, a year has passed and he can not help. Wondering if anyone out there has similar symptoms?
I am so happy that your TN pain was resolved by the MVD. You are incredibly brave getting through that recovery on your own. I'm considering a second MVD because the pain has returned. I had my MVD 3 years ago, and I still have headache, soreness at the incision site, and some minor vision and hearing loss on my right side. I am trying to get used to it, but it seems my hearing is getting worse. Half the time I can't understand what someone is saying, so I smile and nod until they finally get that I don't know what the heck they are trying to tell me.
I am so sorry you are going for the second MVD. You are such a brave person. Did your TNA pain come back?
I have similar symptoms like you. I have soreness on incision site, headaches and pressure on the right side of my head, loss of hearing and site. I went for a hearing test and it shows normal. But, like you I cant hear what people say or understand. How about focus? do you think sometimes you cant focus?
What does your physician say? Mine says be patient and it will get better.
Meanwhile I have to work but, can't participate in many work activities. I work as an engineer. My work asked me to bring a letter from work that outlines the side effects of the MVD and its impact on my present condition. Both my physician is and the surgeon are reluctant to prepare a letter like this. I don't know what to do?
