I really like that Kc, "you have to steer this ship and
knowledge will help keep calmer waters" I mean that, I love that sentence!!! Not only are you an angel, but you are a poet too :)

It's worth ALOT,! with that book and this website.....you have the tools to find the best treatment for yourself.....we are rare,
and wonderful, well meaning TN doctors are even more rare! You have to steer this ship
and knowledge will help to keep calmer waters.
TN is progressive, so read, learn , ask, repeat!
If you can't afford it ASAP, try the library.
Thanks! I think that I like analogies , helps make sense of the world. I am a therapist by trade..... so I pull good stuff out of my hat sometimes at this wise age LOL!

That's pretty wild. I am a therapist too. Masters in Educational Psychology, licensed professional counselor. yeah, clients will remember the metaphors 10 yrs later, and nothing else. Maybe God gives the TN pain to therapists to make us even better in our field. Who knows. I really mean what I say though. I think you are sooo awesome for coming on here and helping others even though you are done with your pain. Hopefully, one day when I am pain free, I will give back and do the same :)
What is the latest edition? The newest I see on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the TNA website is 2004, however I heard there was a newer release. If so, can you tell me where I can get the latest version?
Thanks, NavyVet

Happy New Year!
I've read parts of this (not the whole thing just yet) and it was extremely helpful. When I got the newest edition, I donated my other one to the local library because they had nothing on Trigeminal Neuralgia. Hopefully others will now be helped by having this book in circulation. Check to see if your library has a copy--if they don't, I would purchase one because you're probably going to refer to it again and again.
As a friendly challenge to all other TN sufferers like me (now in remission, thank goodness!) the next time you go to a book store, consider picking up a copy of Striking Back to donate to your library. No doubt there are other people out there who are searching for answers, and your gift of this book may be just what they need. Thanks in advance and best wishes for a wonderful relatively pain-free 2014!
Do you know what the latest edition of Striking Back! is? I find the 4th edition published in 2004 at Amazon, etc., but I heard there was a later edition? I'd like to read it before my visit with Dr. Casey on June 30th.
Thanks, NavyVet

Every time I read it I have a different color of highlighter in my hand. So far I have five different colors. Every time I read it I find some pertinent to what I am going thru. I call it my bible and take it with me to most doctor appointments. Best money ever spent.
