is tn sinus related ? and does anyone feel there pain goes away when they r in a place with warm weather no humidity ?
No Woody, I dont believe weather is a factor in my experience. I have tried to be observant of changes and outcomes... and find no direct difference for me. But just in case - have you thought about moving to the Carribean? Ha! My tn began as an ear infection that migrated to my left maxillary sinus. The pain continues whether sinus' are healthy or not. Dale
thanks dale
Warm weather things are not as bad, but it's still there. Cold just makes everything worse!! Cold foods, cold wind, cold air, cold, cold, cold. If I could I would move some place warm. :)
Hi 2345woody,
I do much better in a warm (>70 degrees) environment. I'm not sure about the humidity impact, but will start to chart/track that factor to check it out. I've had sinus/allergy problems all my life in all seasons, so I suppose there could be a connection there to TN susceptibility. I do have constant (and maddening) loud tinnitus and had sinus cavity restructure/deviated septum surgery in 2005. I've sustained quite a few bad blows to my head in the last 15 years. With all that going on from the neck up, I suppose that anything is possible. Take Care, Rick
I had a deviated septum surgery too!!!!
Mine sure feels like it's sinus related and I took 2 rounds of antibiotics thinking it was sinus related but the pain never went away. I also had a CT scan that shows inflamed sinuses but the ENT specialist says they are not related as my swelling is on both sides and the TN is only on my left side. I look forward to reading others answers on this.
I been noticing somethin weird lately and others have this too. The right side of my face has been swollen slightly in the morning and I am not positive but I think it might be because I lay down at night. I sleep in a recliner for the most part and then for about 4 hours I will sleep in the bed. I only started doing this again recently and now I've noticed the swelling. But I've just recently become bilateral too. Soo Idk. Weird. I have also had sinus surgery and numerous sinus infections starting in my thirties, also history of migraines. Oh and I forgot to mention the blow to my face when I was ten years old from another kids head going straight into my face full force. This being where my pain first presented 7 years ago...
Mine can definitely be sinus and weather related. If I have an allergy attack and get congested on that side, I feel worse. I can feel that barametric pressure change, as well. I remember being at a lake with some other families a couple of summers ago. We were on the dock and I started feeling so badly. There was not a cloud in the sky. I told them it was going to rain. No one believed me. Sure enough, storms moved through. Cold weather is worse than warm and humidity is awful, especially if I go outside. But the swing from one to the other is what gets me, even when I am inside.
Debbie, So you need to move to Arizona is it?? LOL If that's the right state then take me with you...
Hi Min,
After you healed-up, were you glad you had it done?
For me, it was kind of a mixed blessing--I stopped snoring totally and breathe so much better through my nose; which was great. But at the same time, about every other day I have so much what I'll call "sinus pressure" that when I speak, it sounds (at least to me) like I have a badly broken nose. Then, on the next day I'll have my perfectly normal voice with no feeling max "sinus pressure". I'm way overdue for a visit with my ENT Doc about this, but since the onslaught of TN and a couple of lesser pesky issues, it's now at the bottom of my ToDo List.
Do you ever have that feeling of intermittent max sinus pressure since your surgery? Thanks. Rick

I have noticed that the weather does effect mine tremendously. A few days ago, I woke up with a terrible migraine headache. First time, I have had one with this facial pain,it was excuriatingly painful. I believe it was from the cold front we got in yesterday.
im trying to find something in common we all have or have had happen to us to have this problem there has got to be
something

Hi Rick, I guess the benefit of the septum surgery was I didn't have as many infections supposedly. But I recently had surgery to clean out my sinus cavity on the right side in September of 06. The septum was corrected in November of 97. I started getting infections in 93 pretty regurlarly. The infections came back I don't really feel good about the septum surgery cuz my left nostril is bigger than my right and I eventually had to have another one. But who knows if that would have had to happen anyway...???
I'm just starting to figure this thing out, but it does seem that cold weather does not help. I developed the thing, or it made its appearance after I moved to a much colder/humid town. But then again, since I live on a tropical island, humidity isn't something you can escape from. I am however considering moving to a warmer part of the country, where it doesn't rain every single day. Cold weather, cold drinks, cold wind do not help. On the other hand I carry a small hot water bottle around with me. Helps a lot.
