I am almost 2 years out from my MVD. Since the surgery I have suffered from post-op headaches (working on those steadily with the Neuro) and a chronic pain in the area where the Titanium mesh would be. After several trips to the original surgeon, multiple visits to the ENT and Neuro on top of multiple CT scans and MRI's the original surgeon has dismissed the issue as "not his problem nor due to the surgery he performed". After my visit to the Neuro yesterday, and after much discussion with my husband we have decided to get a second set of eyes on the mystery pain that continues to haunt me. I was given the name of a Neurosurgeon to see. I called to set up an appointment and was told "We will not see you until it has been at least two years since the date of your original surgery. Call back then." It so happens that two years is the statute of limitations on filing a malpractice suite in Texas. I questioned the person on the phone about this and she repeated the statement. She also asked who the surgeon was that performed the surgery.
So, has anyone else run into a situation like this? I really believe there is and has been an issue with the mesh and do not want to put this off any longer than I have to -- it will be two years on Aug 27th. It may not seem that far away on the calendar, but to me it seems like a life time.
