I am feeling really nervous about my dentist appointment on Friday. I’m supposed to get a feeling. I have TN 1 and 2 and atypical TN along with Multiple Sclerosis. I was in the emergency room on Saturday with a kidney infection and two weeks ago with chest wall spasms and a painful lung condition called Pleurisy. I’m exhausted! And I’m just really afraid to have that long needle inserted into my gums.
I am with you on this! I absolutly hate needles in the mouth. When I go to the dentist, most times I refuse the needle for small fillings.
I had two caps put on after my GN started. This time I needed the needle. My dentist is fantastic. He knows I hate the needles so he did lidocaine or something twice on the area before the needle.
How long have you known the dentist? Tell them you have issues with the needle before and maybe they can do something to make it easier. Laughing Gas is offered at some clinics.
I talked to my dentist and she's going to try something a little less intrusive and see how it goes. Crossing my fingers!
I hope it's a good day for both of you,
Vicki

If you already have a good working relationship with the dentist, I would talk about your concerns and see what options he can offer. I’ve recently had some dental work done and it went very smoothly, despite me being a nervous wreck.
My dentist is very good at not triggering my tn and is more than happy to make concessions to help reduce the likelihood of pain.
Would you consider using the gas rather than a needle?
((( Vicki ))) sorry to hear about your recent health issues, you poor thing!
I hope you’re feeling better really,really soon.
Huge gentle (( hugs )), Mimi xx
