Question

I had a seizure thursday, was admitted in the hospital. After having several mris, was told I had an extra blood vessel in my brain on the left side, and thats the side of my tn,plus my left eye isnt dilating and the pupil is large.Wanted to know if anyone ever had this? The Neurologist said my tn caused my eye to be like this.

I have my doubts. AS far as I've ever seen in medical literature, TN doesn't normally "cause" blood vessels to grow or change. I think i more likely that the the abnormal blood vessels caused the TN. And has your physician used the term "Arterio-Vascular Malformation"? An AVM is a cluster of intertwined veins and arteries that becomes so dense that it can place pressure on surrounding structures or nerves. The lack of dilation in your eye could be an outgrowth of the bleed-out which occurred during your stroke. But it will be important that you be evaluated for any on-going issues that might prompt additional treatment of an AVM.

Thank you Red for responding to this.I thought the same thing you wrote.Doctor never mentioned AVM to me.I did research on my own and found that too.I told my husband thats what I think I have.It just seems like im getting the runaround.I also have blockages in my neck at 59 and 69blocked,but wont operate until it hits 75percent.My brother just had a stroke on Saturday and they are operating on him for the blockages in his neck but mine they wont.Im just so frusterated. Thanks for your input on my problems.BARB
