Does anyone out there have all three of these. I am so tired of doctors thwy all have different opinions. I am in pain 24/7 and no meds are working. Anyone have answers. I was told to try medical marijuana. Trying for disability but turned down twice and my med insurance is cobra at 655 month due to preexisting condition.
I have had Bells twice, the doctors believe that the cold sore version of herpes cause it. 3 years after the onset of bell I developed TN. I have both sharp instant pain and the burning and ache. The burning and ache are with me almost always.
It took 3 years after the pain started for some on to really listen to what I was saying. I was misdiagnosed many times because the doctors refused to accept that I might be the small % that could get both. It sucks.
So far not much has worked. They put me on paxil cause they were convinced that it was just anxiety causing it. Even though I said the pain attacks came well after the pain. The paxil did help the attacks of panic but did squat for the pain. Now I am on an Carbamazepine er. Makes me tire mostly. Has calmed down the sharpest of the pains.
The little thing I find helpful is eating soft foods. (have forgotten what crunchy is like.)
A warm rice pack. I heat it up a little. The pressure for what ever reason helps.
I take hot fast showers. The cooler the water the worse the pain.
Also, mom has a tens unit. I set it up so it's at the base of my neck. I will be damned if it doesn't help a ton.
I would also get your bp checked. Mine was borderline high and it made it so much worse. Under control makes it manageable.
Here in MN we don't have Medical Marijuana. But if you think it would help I say go for it. Honestly, never fault anyone in chronic pain for looking for a few moment of peace.
Many Blessings.
Thank you. I had bells in oct 2010 and by jan 2011 was in pain Drs said get over it its just bells palsy but we know our bodies more then any dr. As a child I had fever blisters and as adult had cronic sinusitus didnt get an infection from 2010 till just this Aug then got 2within a month. but didnt get fever blister. My blood pressure is now high all the time was told due to oain I am in. Are you on disability
There is a disability section on here - put it in the search box above!
Klonopin will help along with BP meds to keep your stress down -- less stress many times = less intense pain
Also go to the TN Assoc. website -- there are many resources there also!
Will do thanks
