Please Help Me

My TN has been getting worse over the past few weeks. Today, I am in so much pain that I am vomiting and hurting so bad that I can barely move. I tried to call my neurologist but he is out today. I can’t keep any food or liquids down, including my medicine. I want to go to the ER but the past 2 times I have been they have said that they could not help me and sent me home. Any advice woould be much appreciated. At this moment, I am not sure how much more I can take. Thanks!

Oh Jamie,
I’m so sorry to hear that they treat you that way in the ER - do they give you a reason? Do they think that you are a drug seeker? Important question - do you have a copy of your medical records from the treating physician. Can you get them today? I see a husband in the picture above - can he get them for you? They are esssential if you are getting mistreated at an ER. Also, if you go in during a weekday, then you can demand that they contact your personal physician and get the diagnosis confirmed. I would also have your husband come with you to the ER, to be your advocate, and respectfully raise hell with the doctor, and/or the management of the ER until you get properly treated. Somehow it helps to have a force of two in the ER. So - if you do not have a neurologist, get one, and make sure that you have a note from him/her when you go to the ER, outlining the course of treatment that you should be given. You NEED advocates, including your doctor, to fight for you.
I REALLY hope that this helps somehow - I will wait in severe pain until my husband gets home from work, just to have him there to fight for me. I am SO SORRY that you are suffering so much, and surely the vomiting can’t be helping.
gentle hugs,
Lily

Is there a different E.R. you could go to? Possibly a bigger city, even if it is a farther drive? That is ridiculous, but I live in a big city so I don’t experience that. I am so sorry. Would your Neurologist send you to a pain clinic or could you call one yourself? I went to one for a neck injury and he told me he would work on my TN if I wanted and didn’t need a script from the Neurologist. Just a thought. Good luck and prayers are coming your way.

Hugs,
Debbie
