hi everyone , i was wondering if anyone here has ever had any facial cosmetic procedures before since they have had their TN , ? before all this happened to me i always thought i would like to get a little chin lipo for my slight double chin i cant get rid of , or maybe someday a little botox LOL! seriously though , has anyone tried having stuff like this done? if so how did your TN hold up ?and did you have to stop any of your meds before hand , i know silly question and please no judgements i know some do not believe in these procedures. thanks.and hope everyones day has been well.
thank you Ro, I will definately tell the Dr if I decide on any procedure about my TN , i think i would be ok if they didnt make me go without my neurontin for a period of time,so im hoping thats not an issue. thanks for the insight.

hi sheri,
i had surgery on one side for the deviated septum’s back in the 80’s. In 1999 i had a nasty accident and had a broken/severed nose which took 3 surgeries to rebuild and fix. I think they did a great job as my nose looks almost the same as before.
Now, they won’t touch the other deviated septum or the forms of sinusitus etc. I was told one of the risks were TN and I already have TN and seizure disorders.
from what i’ve read, some treatments include botox. If you do decide to look into cosmetic surgery, I’m sure if you mention you have TN (if that’s the issue) - then the doc should let you know if it’s a risk. I’m assuming of course. Good luck with whatever avenue you decide to take!

I didn't have cosmetic surgery but had a small tumor removed from my check in 1973. Then one year ago began TN. The Dr at Jeff U in Phila believes that is the reason I have this.
I believe minor cosmetic surgery triggered mine. I would never have anything cosmetic done again. You live and learn.
wow....thanks for asking this question! Just had MVD surgery and just turned 49. I ponder if I will go get an eye lift or lipo on my chin.... I will keep this in mind for the future and do much research first!
My Doc says the laser would not have caused it but may have triggered it, i will always think it caused it as never had TN before. I will now never willingly let anyone go near my face again.
