Penicillin VK phenoxymethylpenicillin (antibiotic) causes Neuralgia as a side effect

I was put on Penicillin VK, 2x tablets every 4 hours for a suspected sore throat infection, and OMG! the pain after just one day taking the Penicillin is unbearable.

I had to stop taking the Penicillin VK tablets yesterday as it was making the ATN pain extremely worst.

My ATN pain has been mild these past few weeks, just the regular dull ache with a few pain twinges. But after taking just 8 Penicillin VK tablets over a 24 hour period, the side effect was extreme Neuralgia pain all though my head, especially on the right side.

Sitting here typing this now I can still feel high pain levels, my head totally feels different, the pain feels heavy and really strange.

I done a quick google search and found adverse side effect reports of PENICILLIN VK patients who developed NEURALGIA.

Never heard of that.No telling what these drugs do to us,but what choice do we have.Did you try another antibiotic?

Hi Don, GP doesn't want to try another antibiotic, he says wait till I see ENT, which is the first week in February.

To be honest, I am that scared of taking another drug, incase its makes the TN worst again.
