Antiobiotics

May be a silly question but has anyone ever noticed that their pain is worse on Antiobiotics?

I normally do not read the side effects on medications because I have always been a hypochondriac & TN has just made it worse... LOL

I started taking Levaquin last thurs & since then my pain has increased. Granted I have been off meds & pain free for about 4 1/2 years & cant see my neuro till this fri. So I am not sure if I am grasping at straws to find an answer to my pain or if there could be a link????

I don't know of any direct link between antibiotics and TN pain, Disney. However, you've just had a pain remission of 4 years plus, so I would speculate that you might be dealing with a coincidental event, not a cause-effect condition.

FYI, I have profound reservations about the label "hypochondriac", whether applied by a frustrated physician or by patients toward themselves. Not to pick on you about it, but please be advised that most of the evidence for this supposed condition has been submitted by financially self-interested psychologists who are standing in line to treat hypochondriacs and receive a fee for doing so. There are papers in the medical literature which challenge the use of the term, except in very rare instances of specialized obsessive-compulsive disorder which focus on medical conditions in somewhat in the same manner that other patients focus on repeated rituals.

Be well, do good work, and never try to out-stubborn a cat.
