Peanut Butter sandwich

Yes my discussion is about a peanut butter sandwhich. I got to eat one for lunch today, actually bite into it. Since my MVD my teeth have been so sensitive, biting into that would of sent me through the roof but today I did it with next to no pain. Sounds silly but made me happy. Just in the last week I have seen such progress. Second week back to work, out skiing and just back to life in general. I want to give others hope that are maybe just out of a MVD. It does work. Takes time but works. I should really post this in the MVD group but wanted everyone to see it. Here's to everyone that can bite into a peanut butter sandwich, only we understand the excitement in that!!!!

I understand and share your joy! When my pain was out of control, I dreamt of a med rare fillet steak and cleaning my teeth vigorously LOL

oh being able to clean my teeth,,,,,who knew that would feel soooo good. You are so right Jackie. We could go on and on about those little things most people just take for granted.

Enjoy them all......Linda

Happy dance for you !!!! Add some Marshmallow Fluff ! LOL

Haha will do :) Thanx for dancing with me!!

I can feel your excitement Linda! I’m 10 days post MVD and am not quite up to the brushing teeth confidently stage yet, but today bit into and enjoyed eatding a nice thick chicken and salad sandwich. Every day is now full of so much more hope as I discover all the things I can do again!!

Yay for you! I can certainly understand your excitement and joy.

Before getting a proper diagnosis, i was living on eating oatmeal and cottage cheese. Finally being able to BITE into something, after being put on meds, was a huge deal. I wanted to cry with joy!

I truly am happy for you and hope you have many, MANY more peanut butter sandwich days!

:)

I know it sounds so silly the things we find joy in. I was so excited I txt my daughter and told her lol

So happy for you. I understand completely. After living on Ensure for over 6 weeks, I didn't think I would ever be able to bite into food again. Before my surgery, I dreamed of going out to dinner and actually enjoying a meal. I'm 5 weeks post MVD and just starting to get my appetite back. My pain is gone, but after starving for so long, I just don't feel like eating. My hope is that within the next week, I'll actually get my dinner.

Linda, you didn't say how long ago your MVD was, do you mind sharing that with us?

I am happy for you and I second the marshmallow fluff idea!! :)
