This is my first blog here in this wounderful supporting website
I have something strange with my TN , when I take medications pain getting worse , sharper , very tens putting me in bed I can't live any more no working ,eating , talking , sleeping , even crying ! turn from tingling to electric shocks and stabbing , more resistance and there is no breaks all the dat , simply getting crazy !
while without medication it's much better even if I am suffering ..
I told my doctor that the medication make my pain worse & the whole story , he said it's impossible that the medication affect the nature or severity of pain ! it's just your feelings to medications ! (He is very rude) b/c I am sure it's true I feel it !
Any one feel the same ?
Medications make pain worse ,Is that can be possible ?
they put me on tegratol 3 days in i was way worse then they tried gabapentin i got to two doses i was scared and in soo much more pain i don't know why this is i'm going to a nuerologist today hes suposed to be good i'm currently on nothing and just suffering through..call ur doctor and tell them! and you said he was rude is it a nuero doct or a gp? my advice find another doctor if hes rude this disease has no time for people like that!
I am so sorry that you feel this way. I remember when I was suffering at every moment of my waking hours. Its not a good place to be. It sounds to me like you need to find a doctor who understands more about this disease. You need someone who can and will be proactive in finding treatment solutions. Having to deal with this pain on your own is scary and you should get help somewhere else and fast.
I wish you get relief very very soon. Hang in there.
Me too I don't take any thing for now & I'm in pain ,, I am also having eye floaters (right eye) for a month now I don't know if it's related to tegretol or to disease it selft , it starts after 1 week of stopping tegretol
Actually all that the doctors know about the pain is the thioritical part of it , they can't imagine how sever it is !
I had beet met alot of doctors it's the same b/c of that i prefer to share with patients , they know what I feel exactly !

for me gabapentin didn't work at all , tegretol effective for 2 weeks then the hell start my pain getting very sever till I cann't talk , opiate don't give an effect for neuropathic pain , what else of options I have !
I asked a neurosurgen (My doc. neurologist) about laiser , gamma knife & glycerol inj. he said you still young & these methods destroy the nerve
you may get the pain with numb or muscle spasm on the nerve side , so it will be much much sever
We are out of choice !

Ask to have prescription lidocaine patches for your face - while your meds get the dosages upped. - will give you topical relief while you wait for other meds to work.
Also ask your pharmacist about any med side effects that scare you!
When I told my doctor I took four aleve at a time, he warned me that not to do that. The aleve website also says the same. I would check with your doctor before taking that many. You don't need any more problems with your health.

jacob ,, Thank you very much for supporting I keep reading here with people who share me my pain , understand what I'm going through it helps alot ..
I will try naproxen at least taking a break from ibuprofen & solpadine (caffiene, paracetamol, codiene) , but I didn't see it before I will look if we have it in my place
scott .. that's true naproxen/aleve increase risk of cardiovascular events, max. dose 1250 mg/day
I still keep looking for a patient that can live without anticonvulsants or antidepressants & can manage the pain with OTC medications ? I remeber I read a blog in this site of a patient who lived only on baclofen & analgesics but I can't find the blog any more !
