Back in 1996 my pain was on the left side of my face. Some where during the years it changed to the right side of my face which is where it started for this episode. Now, two months into this episode the left sid of my face is very painful WTH? Anyone else have this happen?
There are quite a few here that have it on both sides, few I've seen that it jumps from side to side.... this crap is crazy and everyone is so different in their journey - but we're all in the same boat!
Are you on meds?
Have you had MVD or Gamma?
Lets see, yes I am on meds, tegratol and neurontin, standing by for MRI at busy VA med center before approved MVD- I wonder if they will do both sides?
Have they done imaging looking specifically on both sides? Did you get lucky we’ll that’s relative I guess) and actually see a compressed nerve on the imaging? I’ve seen people on here talk about bilateral pain, but like sister said, not really jumping from side to side. I see you are going through the va. Are you a veteran, and if so where did you serve? (If its not too intrusive)
most MRIs Do Not show compressions --- they many times they dont see them till they are in there working!

do you have a GP that can call you in some prescription lidocaine cream or patches for your face?

My MRIs didn’t show my compression either. That why I said maybe they got lucky and saw something. I had the same criteria for my mvd. I was so drugged up I could barely get out of bed and I still wasn’t pain free.
