Oral surgeon "clipping" nerve

My mom went to her dentist today and while she was there she told her about my diagnosis with TN. Her dentist told her that she had one patient with it so she referred her to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon clipped the nerve and now she’s pain free. She said she’s surprised my dentist hasn’t told me about this procedure. Could it really be that simple?? I’m thinking that if this was the case that everyone that’s been diagnosed with TN would have gone to an oral surgeon by now and had this procedure done. So, has anyone gone to an oral surgeon and been this fortunate??

I would like to hear more about this

If only it was that simple, wouldn’t that be wonderful, we could all be cured…maybe it’s something to ask our surgeons, thanks for the advice, I’ll keep watching everyone else’s thoughts.

I have been to a oral surgeon thats who finally diagnosed me but he didn't mention doing this. Seems sketchy thing to do cut the nerves to your face. i would be worried I wouldn't be able to move that side of my face anymore.

Here is an old thread about it

It doesn't sound very straightforward to me!

Did they mean severing the nerve? Or wrapping the nerve?

Severing the nerve can lead to Anesthesia Dolorosa....or AD , and That...is irreversible and very painful. Pins and needles type feelings... :-(
