Nightly Episodes

99% of my episodes occur while I am sleeping (The Beast wakes me). Mostly at night, but also the possibility exists during a nap. Anybody else have this happen to them? I do not believe I have any triggers other than something I am doing during my sleep. Is this strange? Does the disease take on the form of it's owner? :)

Thanks,

Rick

Sleeping usually STOPS the pain not bring it on. For me, getting to sleep was painful, but once down I was good.

GoodLuck,

Jerry

Thought I was alone with this, but around 5am the aching in my face starts, it does go off during the day, but from that time for about 3 hours it drives me mad.

It also comes on during the day for no reason that I can pinpoint, cold does make it worse, but I can be sitting in the chair and bang it starts.

Have had a few really bad times lately, try not to get fed up but sometimes you do feel sorry for yourself.

Hi Jerry,

The only thing I can do when the episodes start is to stand. Sitting or laying down is out of the question. Once the meds take effect, I can sit and then eventually lay back down. Takes about two hours to get there tho. This can happen up to three times during the night and then I get to go to work, usually exhausted. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Margaret,

You have a wonderful name ... It's my Mom's and younger sister's name. Anyway, like you, I can set the clock by the onset of the episode(s). Depending on when I get to bed, an hour and a half later I am up and in extreme agony. I have the "fast acting" meds on the night stand along with a glass of water and immediately take them. I go downstairs and pace and try to keep from waking the whole house. About two hours later I can sit and then eventually lay back down. This can happen up to three times in a given night. Mercifully, I get two or three nights during the week they do not occur, but I never know what night. Thanks for listening.
