I have been recently experiencing shooting nerve pain also down my legs and arms. The leg pain starts in my thigh and radiates through my knee and down my foot and the arm pain seems to be with my ulnar nerve. Still have face pain and on gabapentin & hydrocodone. My aunt has MS and my first MRI is Monday… Could it be MS? Is this normal TN symptoms?
I am having the same stinkin issue right now...I just had an MVD in October and this started after, in discussing with my neurosurgeon, he believes this came from a prior neck injury and from the surgery and putting my head in a halo. I have numb hands and pain going down my arms and it feels like someone is taking a rolling pin up and down my legs.
My neurosurgeon said all my MRI scans are clear, so he doesnt feel its MS. I had the leg pain before surgery and I swear it came from the Tegretol I am on, It was so bad then I couldnt walk. I wouldnt be surprised if you were having a reaction of sorts. But now that you posted this, I really have to wonder if there is some other neurological disorder causing this and is the underlying issue of why we have TN. Just my two cents for what its worth

Thats how I feel… Never have had any surgery or injury. Always had back pain since age 13… Other than that, no trauma. And never been on anything other than gabapentin for this. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing it too, but glad to know I’m not crazy. Part of me hopes there’s nothing serious on my MRI but the other part hopes that something shows so I can find answers to the hundreds of questions I have.
Pain in the arm and leg area is unlikely to be TN related. Have a word with RED LAWHERN hun.
Let us know what you find out!
I have pain and jerking and weird electrical issues down my right side when I am in a bad flare up. So far, my MRI, etc... does not show MS, but the neurologist did say that they would be keeping an eye on me. So, could it be MS? Yes, it could be, but it doesn't have to be MS. The TN can cause some of this, too, I think. Especially if your trigeminal neuralgia is trigeminal neuropathy related to an autoimmune disease like mine is. Apparently, other autoimmune diseases can mimic MS. In my case, it is Sjogren's Syndrome, which I thought was not a big deal until recently. However, from recent information, it seems that SS can imitate MS.
