Wow I’m confused. If a nerve block causes pain for 48 hours, what is the benefit of having it done? So sorry for your pain, Lena!
I think it is suppose to last for a long time. It is an injection. So the site is sore like an injection site can be.
Hi Lena,
I had three nerve blocks done in the past...probably a year ago. I forget how long in between each injection....I am thinking 2-4 weeks. From what I recall, I had pain in the injection site for a couple days after. If I really paid attention to feeling the pain...maybe I could "tell" I had something done for a few days longer that that. To me...any discomfort was NOTHING in comparison to the TN pain. I did not have any side effects. The positive thing was that I was numb for a bit after each injection (hours only). Unfortunately, the injections did not resolve the pain. For some people they do...I am hoping you are one of the lucky ones.

Lena hope your feeling so much better this moring and every thing help’s for pain relief .
Thank you Lisa. I don’t feel any relief yet and the injection site still hurts. My TN pain still feels the same but I stopped gabapentine today and the pain is the same. So I think that is a good sign. I actually started lyrica today. I have fybro. So I am praying for relief I have been in extreme pain for a long time.
